Sewage Treatment Project for Qidong Pig Farms

The Qidong Pig Farm Wastewater Treatment Project is a representative project delivered by Yikang Eco in the field of large-scale livestock wastewater management. Designed with a treatment capacity of 750 m³/d, the system handles high-strength wastewater generated from pig urine, manure, and barn flushing activities. Such wastewater is characterized by high organic load and elevated concentrations of ammonia and total nitrogen, requiring a robust and efficient treatment approach.

To address these challenges, the project adopts an integrated process combining anaerobic treatment, a multi-stage A/O biological system, and advanced treatment. This configuration ensures effective removal of organic pollutants and nutrients, while maintaining stable system performance under varying operating conditions.

A key highlight of this project is the implementation of an enhanced nitrogen removal strategy. Based on the existing biological treatment system, process optimization measures were introduced, including extended retention time and improved reactor configuration using a plug-flow design. These enhancements significantly strengthen the denitrification process and improve overall nitrogen removal efficiency. As a result, the effluent total nitrogen is consistently maintained below 40 mg/L, meeting applicable discharge standards.

During the engineering phase, Yikang Eco carried out a systematic integration of all treatment units, ensuring smooth coordination between each process stage. Through precise operational control and continuous optimization, the system demonstrates strong resistance to load fluctuations and maintains reliable compliance performance.

Since commissioning, the project has effectively mitigated environmental risks associated with livestock wastewater discharge and significantly improved the farm's environmental management level. With its stable operation and efficient performance, the project serves as a replicable and scalable solution for similar livestock operations.
