Jiafeng Slaughterhouse processes approximately 120,000 broilers per day, with peak water consumption of around 2,300 m³.
The slaughterhouse wastewater mainly comes from the poultry slaughtering process. It contains complex pollutants, with high concentrations of COD, BOD, grease, and suspended solids (SS). It is classified as medium-strength organic wastewater with a large discharge volume. In addition to animal grease, the main pollutants include macromolecular organic substances such as proteins and fats, which must be fully considered in process selection.
The designed treatment capacity of this renovation project is 2,300 m³/d. The adopted treatment process is as follows:
Slaughterhouse wastewater → Mechanical Screen → Collection Tank → Microfilter → Oil Separation and Sedimentation Tank → Equalization Tank → Air Flotation Unit → Primary Anoxic Tank → Primary Aerobic Tank → Secondary Sedimentation Tank → Reaction Tank → Final Sedimentation Tank → Treated Water Tank.
The effluent quality is designed to meet the Grade III standard of the second phase under Guangdong Local Standard DB44/26-2001, Discharge Limits of Water Pollutants.
