Jiarun Food Slaughterhouse Wastewater Treatment Project

This wastewater treatment project was built for the Xinxing Processing Plant of Guangdong Wens Jiarun Food Co., Ltd. in Yunfu, Guangdong. With an annual slaughtering capacity of 45 million broilers, the plant generates a large volume of slaughterhouse wastewater every day. Undertaken by Guangdong Yikangsheng Environmental Protection Service Co., Ltd., the project covers investment, construction, and operational management, with a daily treatment capacity of 2,500 m³/d to ensure stable treatment of all factory wastewater.

The wastewater mainly comes from poultry slaughtering and domestic activities, including blood-containing wastewater, meat washing wastewater, and workshop cleaning wastewater. It is characterized by high CODCr, high SS, and high grease content, with an initial CODCr concentration of 3,500 mg/L. The raw wastewater contains large amounts of feathers, meat residues, and organic pollutants. Without proper treatment, it could severely pollute receiving water bodies and affect the local ecosystem.

To address these pollution challenges, the project adopts a mature combined treatment process, with biological treatment as the core and physical-chemical treatment as a supporting process. The wastewater is first pretreated through mechanical screens, equalization tanks, and oil removal sedimentation tanks to remove debris and grease while stabilizing water quality. The A/O biochemical process then degrades most organic pollutants, followed by coagulation, flocculation, and final sedimentation for further purification.

The effluent meets the Class I standard of the second phase under Guangdong’s local water pollutant discharge standard DB44/26-2001. The project ensures stable and compliant wastewater discharge, effectively reduces industrial organic pollution, and helps protect the local environment.
